Abstract

An insulated wire is cleaned by heating the wire in the flame of a spirit such as methylated spirit which is suitable for removing the insulation from the hot wire and then passing the wire through the flame into contact with the spirit beneath the flame so that the insulation is removed without the heated wire coming into contact with the air.
