Abstract
629,539. Earrings. TILLOTSON, E. L. Sept. 10, 1946, No. 27107. [Class 43] In an earring, Fig. 6, of the type provided with a C-shaped hook, Fig. 2, which lies at the back of the ear the hook is removably attached to the rest of the earring so that it can be adjusted to suit the wearer's ear. A gripping member, Fig. 1, which is placed round the lobe of the ear has a back part which comprises a single rib El provided with two holes F, and a front part comprising three ribs, the central rib C being provided with a curved part D in which a loop or the like at the back of an ornament is removably held. The hook, Fig. 2, is attached to the gripping member by a screw which has a removable cap and is passed through one of the two holes F in the gripping member and through one of three holes G made in the lower part of the hook. On tightening the screw the lobe of the ear is gripped between the outer ribs A, B at the front of the gripping member and a pad on the inner end of the screw.
