Abstract

627,580. Fracture plate. HARDINGE, M.G. Sept. 9, 1946, No. 27062. [Class 81(ii)] A fracture plate comprises a pair of overlapping metal strips 6 and 7 telescopically adjustable in length under control of a clutch device which allows contraction but prevents extension of the plate when in place on the bone. Flanges 8 and 9 on the outer strip 7 are bent over the flanges of the inner strip 6 one of which 9a is partially cut away along an angular line 14 to provide a space in the channel formed by the flange 9 for a small disc 15. A spring finger 16 formed by cutting out the flange 9a at 17 urges the disc to its clamping position.
