Abstract

626,879. Catapults. McNAUGHTON, B. Oct. 7, 1946, No. 29838. [Class 132 (iii)] A catapult, having elastic strings extending from a pouch to points of attachment to the frame at opposite sides thereof, is provided with a sight mounted on the frame above the line of projection of the missile. In Fig. 1, the catapult is provided with a sight 7 consisting of a strip of transparent material clamped to the frame 1 by means of screw 8. The sight has a series of sight apertures 9 each identified by a number. Figs. 7 and 8 show a modified form of sight in which member 11, made of transparent material, is mounted to slide on a transparent slideway 12. The member 11 is marked with horizontal hair lines 14 and 14a on its front and rear surfaces respectively while the slideway 12 is marked with vertical hair lines 15 and 15a on its front and rear surfaces respectively.
