625,702. Tensioning warps in looms. CHRISTIANSEN, C., and RUSCH, G. O. K. Dec. 16, 1946, No. 37074. Convention date, Dec. 14, 1945. [Class 142 (ii)] A warp tensioning device comprises one or more rollers 12, 13 over which the threads pass and which are held stationary when the shed is formed so that the threads slide over the roller or rollers and are thus tensioned. When the shed closes the roller or rollers rotate freely as the threads run backwards. In the construction shown the rollers are fitted with a ratchet device. Two rollers with the thread passing round them in S-form may be mounted on a common support pivotally mounted so that the rollers may be swung away from or towards the vertical to increase or decrease respectively the tensioning effect on the threads.
