Abstract

625,632. Desiccants; refrigerating. GENERAL MOTORS CORPORATION. Aug. 13, 1947, No. 22493. Convention date, Sept. 19, 1946. Addition to 579,094. [Classes 29 and 34(i)] A drier unit 10, mounted within the header 12 of a refrigerator heat exchange unit 14 comprises a tubular screen element 16 filled with granular anhydrous calcium sulphate or other desiccant material 18, the ends of the element 16 being crimped at 20 and the entire assembly coated with cellulose acetate or other material which forms a dust-proof, moisturepermeable coating and gives rigidity to the assembly.
