[Class 84] A double-acting milking-machine pulsator comprises a block A mounted upon a vacuum pipe and having formed in its upper surface a slideway c, of concave cross-section, in which is formed a centrally disposed port E opening downwards into the vacuum pipe and two side ports F positioned at an equal distance either side of the central port and each opening into a passage. leading out to the front of the block. The slide valve G has a corresponding cross-section to that of the slide way and is provided with projecting flanges H which overlap the edges of the slideway. In the undersurface of the valve G is a centrally disposed groove J of a length which overlaps the central port and one of the side ports so that at the end of a stroke one of the side ports is connected to the vacuum pipe and the other one exposed to atmosphere. In the slide valve there is formed one or more lubrication receiving recesses O<SP>1</SP> from which small ducts P extend downwards to the undersurface of the valve.
