Abstract

621,712. Moulding plates &c. GREEN & CO., Ltd., T. G., and SMITH, H. J. Dec. 24, 1946, Nos. 37802/46 and 7257/47. [Class 87 (ii)] Flat clay-ware articles, such as a saucer 16, are shaped on a rotating table 15 by means of a roller 31 mounted on an inclined axis and the centre of the roller coincides with the centre of the article, the roller acting on the whole upper surface of the article, the contour of the roller corresponding to the shape required. The roller spindle 29 is adjustably mounted in a slot in a bracket 26 which is adjustably mounted in a slot 25 in a bracket 24 carried by one arm of a lever 21 the other arm of which is weighted. The surface of the roller may be lubricated and the roller may be heated. The roller may be positively rotated.
