Abstract

620,878. Devices for use in constructing cavity walls; casting walls in situ. O'SULLIVAN, E. Jan. 28, 1947, No. 2697. [Classes 20(ii) and 20(iv)] Device for preventing plaster, concrete or objects from falling down and collecting during construction in the cavity of a hollow wall comprises a trough member 1 adapted to fit and be supported in the cavity with a channelled handle 6 pivoted to the trough at 7 having a cross-piece 11 and also a stay 12 pivoted at 15 and attached to a slide 13, a releasable stop being provided approximately half-way down the handle to limit the movement of the slide. When used in conjunction with the moulds described in Specifications 550,564 and 594,897 the device is introduced to lie on the wall ties immediately below the mould which is to be used and the cross-piece 11 rests across the cavity.
