620,442. Coffee percolators. LYONS & CO., Ltd., J. (Dukatenzeiler, W.). Jan. 17, 1947, No. 1621. [Class 129] A coffee pot comprises a brewing vessel supported upon a valve member, which in turn is supported on the mouth of an opentopped receiving vessel; the bottom of the brewing vessel is formed with perforations surrounded by a projecting non-circular ridge, and the brewing vessel and valve member are relatively rotatable so that one or more apertures formed in the valve member can lie either outside or inside the ridge, so as either to prevent or permit the flow of beverage from the brewing vessel to the receiving vessel. Narrow slots 45 which extend through about half the thickness of the brewing vessel 4 are intersected by circular holes 46. The latter are surrounded by a ridge 42 which is of circular form except for a re-entrant portion 43. In the position shown, a hole 74 in the valve member 7 lies outside the ridge 42, but can be brought within it by rotation of the brewing vessel 4. Rotation of the valve member 7 is prevented by the engagement of a re-entrant portion thereof with a tongue 53 on the receiving vessel 5. All parts of the pot are of glazed earthenware.
