[Class 40 (v)] In a wave-guide system operating at wavelength #, the major cross-sectional dimensions a of the aligned limbs XOX<1> of a Magic Tee junction are reduced below the normal dimensions to a value between 0.5# and 0.7# in order to reduce the mis-match arising from the junction and hence to give broader band tuning. The preferred value lies between 0.52 and 0.56#. Similarly, the minor dimension b is reduced to not more than 0.25#. The dimensions of the two limbs OY, OZ at right angles to the aligned limbs are adjusted to effect matching as a result of alteration of the aligned limbs.
