[Classes 18 and 94 (i)] In a method for packaging a plurality of piles of articles, e.g., cigarette papers in the same cover, the piles are separated from one another by one or more portions of the cover itself such portions being raised by means of fingers passed through openings formed by raising the portions. As shown, piles of cigarette papers 4 and 5 are separated by tongues 2 formed of portions of the cover pushed upwards by fingers 8, the piles being maintained in position by rollers 6 and 7.
