Abstract
In compositions of the kind set forth in the parent Specification, an aromatic tri-isocyanate or modified polyester or polyesteramide is used in place of an organic di-isocyanate modified polyester or polyester-amide. Suitable triisocyanates are benzene 1,3,5-tri-isocyanate; toluene 2,4,6 - tri - isocyanate; ethylbenzene-2,4,6-tri-isocyanate; monochlorobenzene-2,4,6-tri - isocyanate; triphenylmethane - 4,41,411-tri - isocyanate and diphenyl - 2,4,41 - tri - iso - cyanate. In the examples, a polyester amide from adipic acid, ethylene glycol and monoethanolamine is modified with benzene 1,3,5-tri - isocyanate or with toluene - 2,4,6 - tri - isocyanate, and in example (1) the benzene triisocyanate modified polyesteramide is mixed on heated rolls with a polyvinyl acetal known under the Registered Trade Mark "Formvar." In example (2) the toluene tri-isocyanate modified polyester amide is mixed with "Formvar," and hexamethylolmethamine hexamethyl ether and a small proportion of 2,4-dichloro-1-naphthol and the mix stirred with ethylene dichloride to give a preparation suitable for coating fabrics (see Group VIII). In example (3) a solution in ethylene dichloride of "Formvar" and the toluene tri-isocyanate modified polyesteramide is mixed before use as a lacquer with toluene-2,4,6-tri-isocyanate.
