Abstract
613,512. Floors. SOC. ANON. DES USINES CHAUSSON. April 27, 1945, No. 10675. Convention date, June 17, 1944. [Class 20(iv)] A floor for aeroplanes and other applications comprises a top surface sheet 7, interposed stress transmitting elements 9, 10 and 11 and a supporting sheet 8 which is hung from a framework 3, 4, 5 and 6 to form catenary curves. Thin sheet metal, plywood or other light material, or even the top surface of the element transmitting the stress, where such provide a plane surface, may be used for the said top surface 7, whereas the supporting sheet 8 is of sheet metal having a high limit of elasticity. The intermediate stress transmitting element may be in the form of projections, bosses and protuberances secured to the top surface sheet or to the supporting sheet, or may be in the form of a light filling material, such as spongy ebonite, having insulating waterproof, soundproof properties and the like, and secured between the top and supporting sheets.
