Abstract

612,679. Moulding-machines. PNEULEC, Ltd., and COWLAM, K. W. May 30, 1946, No. 16433. [Class 83 (i)] During its removal from the pattern a moulding-box is supported on a ram by means of a pair of independent beams 10 supported by levers 13, connected by a link 20 pivotally connected to the levers, whose ends have free movements in slots 12 in the beams 10. The inner edges of the levers 13 are inclined, to co-operate with inclined edges 16 of slippers 17, which are rigidly supported by the ram. The beams 10 are thus free to alter their planes relative to the slippers 17, the inclined edges of the levers 13 riding up or down the edges 16 to allow the beam to engage and support the back face of the moulding-box at not less than three points during withdrawal, whether or not the back face of the box is flat and parallel to the joint faces.
