[Class 51(i)] Improvements in the revolving gas-producer grate disclosed in Specification 579,878 comprise dividing said grate into two or more parts d each being a portion of a helix around a vertical axis and having a leading knife edge e and a trailing edge f extending below and behind the next leading edge, and fixing above the grate a cross member b and arms c which have flat vertical front sides and sloping rear sides.
