Abstract

A faced electrode for heating thermoplastic material with pressure wherein the facing material is of non-porous synthetic cordierite. Specification 577,719 which describes a facing material of porous synthetic cordierite is referred to. The non-porous cordierite is prepared by adding a small amount of vitreous binder before heating the mixture of clays and talc.
