Abstract

611,129. Dog muzzlers. 'MURGATROYD, T. E., and MURGATROYD, W. April 20. 1946, No. 12160. [Class 62] The major portion of a dog muzzle comprises a single piece of leather or the like folded centrally and shaped so as to fit the nose and mouth, the lower edges being stitched or fastened together and openings left for the animal's nostrils and eyes. As shown, the piece of leather A is folded about the centre line P and has its lower edges K, L stitched together to form a bag into which the dog's head fits. The opening B, sub-divided by a strap J, forms holes for the nostrils, while the cutaway portion C provides openings for the eyes. Straps F are attached to the rearward projections E so that the muzzle may be firmly attached to the dog's head. Holes H, I are provided for ventilation and the egress of saliva respectively.
