Abstract

608,832. Letterboxes. COSSOR, Ltd.. A. C.. and TIPPING. W. F. March 7, 1946, No. 7139. [Class 18] A letterbox has an aperture normally closed by rollers 10, 11 that are displaceable relative to one another to permit a package to be passed between them. The rollers are shown mounted in V-shaped grooves 6, 7 and 8, 9 in partitions 4, 5 within a box-like fitting 1 that can be fixed on the outside of a door. A spring 14, connecting the roller spindles 12, 13 at each end, urges the rollers together. The separated rollers may close electrical contacts to ring a bell.
