Abstract
608,608. Tobacco-pipe cleaners. SMITH, A. G. Sept. 7, 1945, No. 23086. [Class 130] [Also in Groups XXIII and XXVIII] A bore cleaning tool, particularly for use with tobacco pipes, has a blade adapted to be extended into the bore of the object to be cleaned, and a brush formed of absorbent material secured to and supported by the blade, the edges of which extend beyond the brush so as to scrape accumulations from the wall surrounding the bore and throw them into contact with the brush. A handle 1 may be provided and the blade 2 may have external serrations. Figs. 3 and 4 show the cross-sections near the tip and handle respectively; Figs. 2 and 4 show the brush. Figs. 5 and 6 show a modification in which the blade is flat and the brush 16 covers both sides of it. Figs. 23 and 24 show a form in which the blade has a concave recess accommodating part of the brush on each of its four sides. Various other modifications are described.
