[Classes 48 and 81(ii)] [Also in Group XV] In a handgrip for the shaft of a games implement or fishing-rod two projecting surfaces to accomodate the second and third fingers and the fourth finger respectively are provided, the surface for the fourth finger projecting to a greater lateral extent than the other, the adjacent side of the third finger resting against the step at the junction of the two surfaces and the length of the first surface, axially of the shaft, being such as to allow the first finger and thumb to grip the shaft directly. The handgrip may be formed as an integral part of the shaft or may be secured to it by binding or screwing or, as in the preferred form illustrated in Fig. 3 may be formed as a separate entity in which edges 13, defining a concave surface, grip the shaft and the exterior convex surface has projecting surfaces 14, 15 the crests of which have a slight twist to suit the second joints of the fingers and steps 17, 16 to accommodate the sides of the first and third fingers respectively. In a modification a finger-retaining loop with a web portion between the second and third fingers, is provided which spans the finger-supporting surfaces so that the device may be carried on the hand between strokes. This modified form may be detachably secured by a plate to a universally movable connection of an artificial arm.
