[Class 40 .(iv)] [Also in Group XXXVI] A thermal time delay. device comprises resistances 68, Fig. 4, varied by heat from electrical heaters 42, the whole being within an evacuated container 32, having mica plates 34, 35, Fig. 1, spaced apart by spacers 40 which are utilised as leads to the heaters. The heaters 40 are contained within glass, quartz, ceramic or like insulating tubes 60 upon which are resistance surfaces 68 deposited by evapora-' tion in vacuum. Preferably the deposition is in the form of a spiral by use of masking. In one application, the resistances 68 form the arms of a Wheatstone bridge so that selective energisation of the heaters disturbs the balance after a predetermined time.
