Abstract

602,930. Porous block burners. POLLETT, H. F. March 29, 1946, No. 9759. [Class 75(i)] A firelighting device consists of an opentopped cradle of cast iron or other metal having openings in its base or sides and containing two or more bricks or brick fragments capable of absorbing liquid fuel. The cradle shown consists of end walls 1, 2 connected by an apertured base 3 and side walls 4 and provided with a handle 8. Four absorbent bricks 6 are.retained in the cradle by inwardly directed teeth 7 on the side walls. In another form of the device the cradle is cylindrical with a removable or fixed end to retain the brick sections or fragments in position.
