Abstract

Fabric, particularly asbestos fabric for use as a diaphragm for electrolysers is provided with strengthening metallic wires running in one direction only and enclosed by the cross-threads of the fabric. The wires may be covered with the same material as the fabric. Some only of the threads of the fabric may be replaced by the wires, several of which are then placed side by side.
