Abstract
601,001. Hair-drying machines. SMITH, K. H. Dec. 19, 1945, No. 34379. [Class 81(ii)] The hood of a hair-drying machine is formed in two parts, an upper translucent portion and a lower transparent portion, the parts being detachably secured together. As shown, translucent part 1 encloses a motor 2, an electric heating element 3 and a fan 4, while transparent part 5, adapted to enclose the hair and head, is secured by screws to part 1 by metal band 6. Either or both parts may be-made of synthetic material such as that known under the Registered Trade Mark " Perspex," the upper part being rendered translucent by the incorporation of colouring matter or by sand-blasting or crackling. Part 1 may also enclose an electric lamp coupled with the motor so that it is only lit when the motor is running. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 502,245.
