Abstract

598,883. Seaming. GEESON, R. E., PEBKINS, C. W., and BLISS (ENGLAND), Ltd., E. W. Sept. 21, 1945, No. 24551. [Class 83 (iv)] A seaming-head comprises pressure levers 11 and-seaming roll levers 3 attached in the same sense to shafts 2 in the head whereby centrifugal force tends to move the seaming-rolls away from the chuck. The seaming-rolls 4 are mounted on the levers 3 detachably connected by a serrated collar to a shaft 2 actuated by a cam 21 and levers 19 through the pressure lever 11. The levers 19, 11 are connected through a leaf spririg 15 and adjusting screw 16. Four sets of seaming-rolls are mounted in the head opposite pairs being actuated by cams.
