Abstract
596,650. Radiolocation. ELLIOTT, W. S., BAILEY, A. E., and GAUNT, H. Dec. 6, 1944, No. 24450. Drawings to Specification. [Class 40 (v)] In a pulse radar system for the detection of moving objects, Doppler beat frequencies are obtained by injecting into a mixing device, comprising the I.F. amplifier or second detector of the receiver, local reference oscillations which are produced by mixing oscillations from the receiver local oscillator with the output from an oscillator at R.F., which is coupled to the transmitter so as to be locked in phase with the radio frequency in successive transmitted pulses. The system described is identical with that described with reference to Figs. 1 and 2 of Specification 596,649. It is also stated that the receiver may employ multiple frequency changing, the continuous reference oscillation then being produced by similar frequency changing steps from the continuous radio frequency oscillator.
