Abstract
596,595. Cloches. POOL, T. A. March 6, 1945, No. 5546. [Class 20(i)] A cloche has two steel end frames 5 connected by an inverted V-shaped ridge 6, strips 7 and channels 9 which support sheets of glass. A handle 18 fits loosely into two holes in the ridge member and can be withdrawn to the position shown when intended for use. The frames may be triangular or barn - shaped and have spiked feet 17. Rods 12, 13 held in lugs on the frames, hold the top edges of the sheets against the members 6, 7, whilst the bottom edges rest in the channels 9. The top edges of the sheets may, alternatively, be held by a spring clip 30, Fig. 8 or, Fig. 9, an inverted channel 37 hinged to the frames and locked in position by a catch 38. In a further modification (not shown), the edges of the roof sheets are sandwiched between the ridge member 6 and a further inverted V-shaped member held by screw-eyes. Alternatively spring actuated rods 25 bent and hinged at 25A to the frames, Fig. 6, may be used.
