593,087. Reciprocating conveyers. DARLING, G. F. March 20, 1945, No. 7030. [Class 78(i)] [Also in Group VI] In a toaster (see Group VI) bread is placed on a retractable belt 3 attached to a spring-driven drum 1, the drum being wound up on withdrawing a movable frame 5 from the toaster chamber 7. On releasing the frame the drum revolves to wind in the belt and causes the bread to pass between heaters 8 in the chamber. According to the Provisional Specification, the drum and the belt may be replaced by an electric motor and a continuous conveyer.
