Abstract

589,034. Fire-extinguishing. FRASER, R. P. April 27,1944, No. 7891. [Class 47 (ii)] Means for fire-extinguishing, comprises a continuous or intermittent stream of fireextinguishing liquid enveloped by a sheath of burning petrol during it projection towards the fire in order to increase the range of the stream. Concentric nozzles or the apparatus described in Specifications 583,025 and 583,029 may be employed. The fire-extinguishing liquid may comprise water, ethylene tetrachloride, a foaming liquid or an aqueous solution of salts, and if suitable, may be gelled and the gel may be peptised.
