[Class 81 (ii)] A teeth-cleaning implement comprises a stick of laminar construction, the laminar elements being so formed that when assembled the stick has one or more cavities &c. adapted to hold antiseptic &c. material. Fig. 1 shows an outside and centre lamination with the latter formed to provide a slot 8 in each edge. In Fig. 3, the centre lamination is formed with a large hole '13 to receive the antiseptic material, and the outer laminations with small holes 12. In Fig. 5, each outside lamination is coated at 17 with antiseptic material. The laminations may be formed of plastic material, e.g., nitrocellulose or regenerated cellulose, reinforced if desired with fibrous material, and may be cemented on or fused together. The antiseptic &c. substance, e.g., penicillin or a sulphonamide, may be dissolved in say gum or gelatine, or may be mixed with a material which on drying gives a porous mass, and there may also be added a colouring matter to indicate the extent to which the material has been used. Heat may be employed to promote the filling by the liquid, or where this is inadvisible, e.g., where penicillin is used, the filling may be effected under reduced pressure. A wetting agent, e.g., a sulphated and/or sulphonated fatty alcohol, or a detergent such as ceytrimethylammonium bromide may be employed. The sticks may be connected with a base strip so as to be readily torn therefrom, and the strip of sticks may be placed between two sheets of regenerated cellulose heat sealed around the edges of the sticks and perforated to allow tearing.
