[Class 52 (iii)] [Also in Groups XV and XVIII] A magnetic holder for cards, papers or the like comprises a relatively separable permanent magnet and a " keeper " both of which form, or are carried by holding members between which the article or material may be gripped, the parts being formed as a unit. The holder may comprise a base plate 1 with two upstanding blocks 2, 5 one or both of which are integral with the base. The magnet 9 is slidably but non-removably mounted in a recess 8 in the face 3 of the block 2 while the opposite face 6 of the block 5 may form or house the " keeper." A recess 12 formed in the magnet is adapted to accommodate an upwardly extending adjustable metal support or rest for large articles. To facilitate insertion of the cards or the like, finger grips in the form of lateral extensions, or an operative tail piece adapted to project through the rear wall of the block, may be provided on the magnet.. In a modification, the magnet and " keeper " may be housed one in the base part and one in a recess 18 in an upstanding member which is slidably secured to and guided on said base part. The slidable member itself may form the " keeper." In a further modification, the " keeper may be formed as a plate 22 adapted to be hung on a wall or placed on a table or the like, the card 24 being secured thereto by a tethered magnet 20 anchored to the plate by a chain 21 or the like.
