Abstract

587,037. Sprockets. WILLIAMS, W. P. (Standard Register Co.). May 17, 1944, No. 9499. [Class 80 (i)] The teeth 12 of a sprocket, more particu larly for advancing continuous strips of recorc forms in an autographic register, typewriter, tabulator or other recording apparatus, are struck by piercing and bending out of a continuous metal band E which is cut to length and wrapped around a circumferential groove 4 in the body 1 of the sprocket, its ends being depressed to hook under lugs 7 in the radial recesses in the body. The teeth may be struck from opposite sides of centre-lines 12-12 to register and form a complete hollow cone, or from one side only to form a half-cone, in which latter case a few complete conical teeth may be provided for accurately locating the record form. The sprocket-body 1 may be of cast-metal, moulded plastic or wood pulp.
