Abstract

586,919. Shaping bottle closures. ENOCK, A. GRAHAM-, and GRAHAM-ENOCK MANUFACTURING CO., Ltd. March 28, 1944, No. 5717. [Class 100 (ii)] [Also in Group XVII] A machine for producing a container or carton of stacked, metal foil, corrugated bottle closure elements, in which two different designs of corrugation alternate (see Group XVII) comprises a pair of presses operating alternately, one press producing one design, the other press producing the other design, and both delivering to guide means which feed the elements to the container. Diametrically opposed cams, on a shaft 30, reciprocate die plungers 33 (not shown), 34, co-operating with dies 35 (not shown), 36, to form the elements from a strip. The formed elements slide down a chute 37, between convergent walls 38, and into a bell-mouthed sleeve 39 located above that container 40 in which the discs are being stacked. The containers 40 are mounted in a rotary head carried on a spindle 41 by arms 42, 43. The lower, spring urged, pivoted arms 43 are provided with open ended shelf members 44. Diametrically disposed side guides or ramps on the sleeve 39 help to position the containers 40. Two opposed series of presses may be provided.
