Abstract

586,904. Radiolocation. MARCONI'S WIRELESS TELEGRAPH CO., Ltd., and BARTON, .J. C. Dec. 6, 1944, No. 24452. [Class 40 (v)] A device for release from an aircraft to interfere with the operation of radiolocation apparatus consists of a number of pieces of thin conductive material hinged together to form a flat pack and provided with means which open it up into a three-dimensional figure consisting of a number of corner reflectors when the device is released. Fig. 1 shows five pieces 1 of light metal or metalized card hinged together and having four pieces 2 of similar material fixed between adjacent faces and creased so that the device will fold flat. Pieces of elastic 3 or, alternatively, a small spring, are used as opening means. Delay in falling may be achieved by attaching a small parachute.
