585,025. Wheeled toy noise effects. LINES BROS., Ltd., and LINES, W. Aug. 29, 1945, No. 22277. [Class 132 (iii)] A wheeled toy such as an engine, "puff-puff" or the like, having an arcuate row of teeth and a resilient element mounted to engage the teeth, in which the row of teeth or the resilient element is movable with a part of the toy that rotates as the toy is moved along so that the teeth and the resilient element periodically brush past one another to produce a burring noise or a noise resembling the sharp puff of a locomotive. The resilient element may be a leaf spring 19 secured to a circular metal disc 16 which functions as a noise-intensifying diaphragm and has a peripheral flange 17 fixed to the toy by means of screws or rivets 18. The teeth 13 may be formed on the outer edge of a metal sector 12 secured to the axle 11 of the toy so as to sweep upwards through a slot 15 in the floor 14 of the toy and thus engage the kink or small projection 20 of the leaf spring 19.
