Abstract
584,455. Rotary pumps. EATON MANUFACTURING CO. July 27, 1944, No. 14370. Convention date, April 7. [Class 110 (ii)] The pump is of the n and n + 1 lobe type having a rotor 10 on a shaft 28, rotating on a fixed axis F, meshing with a rotor 12 which, upon reversal of direction of rotation of 10, is shifted in its plane to rest on a casing part A B instead of A C as shown. One-way pumping of fluid from an inlet 40 to a delivery 42 is thus secured. The inner rotor has at least one tooth' less than the outer rotor. Relative axial movement between the shaft 28 and rotor 10 may be prevented by snap rings in the shaft. U.S.A. Specification 1,682,564 is referred to.
