584,003. Hand irons. TUNNICLIFFE, E. A. J. Sept. 28, 1944, No. 18627. Drawings to Specification. [Class 138 (ii)] A hand iron has a button slot extending completely across the ironing face from one edge to another, so that the iron can be passed completely over a row of buttons or similar pieces. The slot is preferably disposed obliquely to the length of the iron so as not to leave an un-ironed zone on normal work. A filling piece, insertable in the groove, may be provided for the same reason. The groove may have a dove-tail or right-angle cross-section, and its leading end may be indicated by a projection.
