Abstract

583,289. Wrappers. AMERICAN VISCOSE CORPORATION. Oct. 16, 1944, No. 19921. Convention date, Oct. 16, 1943. [Classes 94 (i) and 94 (ii)] A wrapper of paper, or like material, is provided with numerous slits 3, in rows, to facilitate wrapping around an article such as an annular cake C. Parts of the wrapper may remain unslitted. The slits may be arranged in various ways but at least one row has slits staggered relative to one or more other rows. In Fig. 5, an un-slitted portion 8 of the wrapper is placed inside an annular cake C, the part 10 of the wrapper being placed over the top and afterwards covered by the part 11. The apparatus described in Specification 565,705 may be used for wrapping. In Fig. 8, the cake C and wrapper rest on a plate 15 which may pass to the bottom of a cup 18, the sides of which force the part W of the wrapper upwards. The skirt of W is then tucked into the top of the cake. Fingers 16 are moved radially to position the wrapper inside the cake.
