[Class 26] A strainer for scullery sinks comprises a basket 6 with perforations 7, having attached to it below an aperture 9, a perforated thimble tube 1, adapted to fit with its upper end in a plug opening 2, into which end fits a plug 13, preferably chained to the basket. The tube 1 may have an internally threaded upper portion 1<SP>1</SP> for attachment to the basket 6 by a flanged tube 8, the flange 10 clamping the edge of the aperture 9 against the upper end of the tube.
