582,810. Bird and like cages. DOWDALL, L. W., and CHANGE-WARES, Ltd. May 22, 1944, No. 9838. [Class 5 (ii)] Bird-cage corner uprights 2 are formed at their upper ends or elsewhere with tongues 7b which are bent over the adjacent wires or rim of the cage. At their lower ends they are cut and bent to form projections which engage complementary slots and projections on the skirting member or members 1. Rebates are formed on the bent upper ends of the uprights to permit the insertion of seed-guard plates between the corners and cage-wires. The base 3 is suspended from the skirting by clips 3b as described in Specification 507,406. One skirting member is of less width than the others to permit the insertion of a sand-tray. The cage may be rectangular, or may be oval or circular, in which case the corner-pieces are made arcuate.
