Abstract
A fishing line is dressed with a solution of nitro-cotton cellulose and castor oil, preferably in the proportions by weight one of cellulose and between three and five parts of blown castor oil. A quantity of litharge and linseed oil may be added. The line may be impregnated in a container under pressure or a vacuum, and then run through a gland to remove the surplus coating mixture. A number of coats may be applied.
