Abstract

580,289. Bundling watercress &c. KNOWLES, A. G. June 24, 1944, No. 12040. [Class 94 (i)] In an apparatus for bundling water cress, flowers &c. comprising a tube 1 to receive the stems having a semi - cylindrical end portion 2 adapted to be closed by a hinged cover 3 to clamp the stems while a rubber ring is passed over the tube 1 on to the stems adjacent the head of the bunch, a sleeve 16 is secured within the inner end of the trough having a portion 18 to form an abutment for the cover 3 in its closed position. The sleeve 16 has a semicylindrical portion 19, the edge 20 of which also forms an abutment for the edge 21 of the cover 3.
