Abstract
578,512. Filtering systems. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., TURNER, H. C., and FIELDING, E. A. Nov. 12, 1941, No. 14577. Drawings to Specification. [Class 40 (iv)] [Also in Group XL] In a system of the type in which an oscillation of a desired frequency, e.g. a desired harmonic in the output circuit of a multivibrator supplied by a crystal-controlled oscillator, is selected by bringing the unseparated (or roughly separated) oscillations by modulation to a lower frequency level at which the required separation is performed by a filter, the selected oscillation being restored by a further modulation stage to the original frequency level, the latter step is performed in a number of stages, a passive filter being used for selecting the desired frequency at each stage. The reduction in frequency before filtering may be done in one or in several stages.
