Abstract

578,473. Screwing up screws &c. SOC. ANON. COMMENTRY-FOURCHAMBAULT ET DECAZEVILLE. Oct. 16, 1940, No. 15321. Convention date, Aug. 23, 1939. [Class 83 (iii)] The final tightening is applied to electrodes for arc furnaces by fluid pressure means, the initial assembly being effected by hand. After such assembly, rings 1, 2 that may have been suspended round the rods by hooks 11, are clamped to the respective rods by screws 5 and pressure fluid is admitted to cylinders 7 to advance pistons 6, the cylinders being connected to arms 4 projecting from one ring and the pistons to arms 3 projecting from the other.
