Abstract

6-Benzoylacetamidoindazole is prepared by reacting together 6-aminoindazole and ethyl benzoylacetate. 5-Benzoylacetamidobenzimidazole, indazole - 5 - malonamide, 2 - mercapto - 5 - acetylacetamidobenzimidazole, 6 - (a - hydroxy - b - naphthoylamino) - indazole (using 6-aminoindazole and phenyl a -hydroxy-b -naphthoate), and 6 - (o - hydroxybenzoylamino) - indazole (using 6 - aminoindazole and phenyl salicylate) are similarly prepared. 5-(41-Benzoylacetamidobenzenesulphonamido) - 2-mercaptobenzimidazole is prepared by the reaction of 2-mercapto-5-aminobenzimidazole and 4 - benzoylacetaminobenzenesulphonyl chloride in the presence of anhydrous sodium acetate and glacial acetic acid. 2-Mercapto-6-(11-naphthol-51-sulphonamido) - benzthiazole (using 1-acetoxynaphthalene-5-sulphonyl chloride and hydrolysing the product with dilute alkali), 2-mercapto-5-(21-cyanacetylcoumaronyl-5-sulphonamido) -benzimidazole, and 6-(21-cyanacetylnaphthalene - 61 - sulphonamido) - indazole are similarly prepared.
