Abstract

577,163. Luminescent materials. KARFIOL, E. July 31, 1944, No. 14608. [Class 39 (i)] In dial instruments, the dial is painted with luminescent material and the pointer is provided with a portion of radioactive material which excites the adjacent area of luminescent material. In the construction shown, the pointer is three pronged, the centre limb 6 being the indicating part and radioactive material being on the two outer arms in order to illuminate the region around pointer 6.
