Abstract
575,498. Wire fabrics. POLLITT, H. W. W. June 26, 1944, No. 12108. [Class 45] [Also in Groups X and XXV] A clip for securing stout wires or rods together in closelyspaced parallel relationship, for example, the wires of two separate sheets of open meshed metal fabric, comprises a pair of limbs 1, 2, Fig. 3, having ramps 3, 4, both ramps being adapted to ride over one of the wires or rods 5, 6 to be secured together, the limbs being relatively staggered so that a space is left between them which allows the clip to be passed freely over the two wires, in the position shown in Fig. 2. On rotating the clip about an axis parallel to the limbs into the position in Figs. 3 and 4, the lower wire rides over the ramps 3, 4. Angled leads 7, 8, Fig. 7, may be provided on the ramps 3, 4. The virtually closed loop formed by the clip is of such a width as to accommodate one wire, and of length to accommodate one more wire than the number to be in fact accommodated. The clip is rigid, and may be made of stout sheet metal from a flat blank.
