Abstract

574,203. Hand-tool handles. CABEZA, V. A. Jan. 15, 1944, No. 796. [Class 61 (i)] [Also in Group XIV] A safety cover for shearing-machines and the like comprises a leather or other cover of a shape suitable for application to the handle of the shearing machine with perforations to facilitate lubrication of the machine and with a series of projections on the upper face arranged so as to leave the lubricating perforations uncovered. Fig. 1 shows the leather cover b with metal eyelet holes 10, 11, longitudinally arranged projections 9 stitched to the cover and lubricating holes 8. Fig. 3 shows the cover applied to the handle of the shearing machine, the holes 8 coinciding with the lubricating orifices of the handle and Fig. 4 the method of securing the cover to the handle with a lace 12. In a modification, the lace may be formed as a continuation of one of the projections 9.
