572,947. Wicks. GRATZER, R. March 16, 1945, No. 5633/44. [Class 75 (i)] A wick for use in cigarette lighters, oil and spirit lamps &c. consists of a bundle of longitudinally arranged glass filaments a and cotton yarn or other hygroscopic filaments b enclosed tightly by a sheath c of braided cotton or other liquid-absorbent material. To facilitate threading the wick into the wick tube the end c' of the sheath may extend beyond the bottom of the filaments a, b and be stiffened by dipping into a cellulosic solution.
